Job Description: - Seeking in-house Senior Counsels to join the Patent Prosecution group within the Intellectual Property, Transactions, and Innovation legal team. - Positions will support AbbVie's Oncology, Immunology, and Neuroscience products. - Based in Chicago, San Francisco, or Boston with a hybrid work model (on site 3 days/week). - Develop and implement intellectual property strategies for AbbVie's products and product candidates. Responsibilities: - Create and implement intellectual property strategies to maximize AbbVie's competitive position. - Provide legal advice and counsel to cross-functional R&D and business teams. - Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications worldwide. - Challenge and defend patents in post-grant proceedings. - Conduct prior art searches and due diligence to support business development activities. Qualifications: - JD degree from an accredited law school, state bar admission, and registration to practice before the USPTO. - 7 years of experience practicing patent law at a law firm and/or life sciences company. - Strong technical background in pharmaceutical patent prosecution. - Strong legal, analytical, communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
