This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly successful and growing team that represents clients before all levels of New Jersey State government. Essential Functions: - Provide strategic advice to clients in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors on legislative, regulatory, and governmental affairs processes - Attend and monitor legislative committees and regulatory proceedings on behalf of clients - Assist attorneys in the Government & Regulatory Affairs Group with client-specific tasks, such as scheduling meetings, drafting letters and position statements, and creating advocacy materials - Attend meetings and events outside of the office, including early mornings or evenings - Register with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission as a governmental affairs agent Experience and Skills: - Admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey - 2 to 3 years of experience in the New Jersey Legislature or Executive Branch, or in the government affairs/public policy field - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects - Familiarity interacting with elected officials and high-level staff members This is a competitive and commensurate salary based on experience. The successful candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in the New Jersey Legislature or Executive Branch, or in the government affairs/public policy field.
