Insurance Defense Attorney -- Bodily Injury
Maitland, FL

The Insurance Defense Attorney - Bodily Injury will be responsible for providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies in all aspects of litigation related to motor vehicle insurance defense. This is a hybrid position with the option to work from home, but candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the office they support. The job requires a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school, an active license to practice law in Florida, and at least two years of general/auto civil litigation experience. The salary for this position ranges from $118,320 to $139,200 per year with a potential gainshare bonus of up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies in all aspects of litigation related to motor vehicle insurance defense.
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs.
- Negotiate settlements and work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely reports on litigation.
- Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records, and assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure.

Requirements:

- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Florida.
- Two years of general/auto civil litigation experience.

Salary: $118,320 - $139,200 per year
