Islamorada, FL Law Firm Seeking Experienced Paralegal in Islamorada, FL Are you an experienced paralegal looking for a new opportunity? Vernis & Bowling's Islamorada office is currently seeking paralegals to join our team. We are a fast-paced civil litigation defense firm, and we are searching for candidates who have prior experience in General Liability. If you have a strong background in administrative and organizational tasks, and are proficient in Office 2007 and other legal software, we encourage you to apply for this full-time position. Job Duties: - Summarizing records and court files - Scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions - Conducting research using sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and public records - Drafting and preparing legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, discovery materials, appeals, and contracts - Assisting with trial preparation and discovery practices, such as organizing exhibits and documents in response to subpoenas and discovery requests - Acting as a liaison between counsel, clients, experts, witnesses, and other outside contacts - Maintaining attorney's calendar by scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and depositions Requirements: - Minimum 1 year of experience with General Liability - Proven administrative, clerical, and organizational abilities - Proficiency in Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat - Legal residence in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Mississippi Benefits: - Full-time position with competitive salary - Medical insurance - Voluntary vision and dental insurance - Voluntary life insurance - Short and long term disability coverage - 401(k) retirement plan If you are a skilled paralegal with experience in General Liability, we want to hear from you!
