Job Description:

- Full-time Paralegal position with emphasis on litigation support in Capital Habeas Unit
- Represent death sentenced individuals in all stages of federal habeas proceedings
- Embrace core values of compassion, courage, competency, creativity, and collaboration
- Provide litigation support on complex cases
- Gather, organize, and analyze records related to the offense and client's life history
- Synthesize information and conduct research for each case
- Maintain electronic discovery and administer/produce reports
- Assist attorneys with case preparation and maintain software platforms
- Notarize documents and submit document requests to various agencies
- Prepare appellate briefs for appropriate courts
- Must have strong analytical abilities and solid oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable talking directly with clients over the phone
- Prior capital and/or federal habeas experience or paralegal experience in complex areas of law strongly preferred
- Education above high school level may be substituted for experience
- Proficiency in litigation support and case management software, as well as computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, is a plus
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
