Associate Attorney

Job Summary: As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for handling court appearances, court coverage placements, mid-litigation motions and responses, and trials and arbitrations. You will also be required to communicate with attorneys, employers, and consumers to resolve accounts and suits. This position requires a licensed attorney in both Kansas and Missouri, with the option for additional licensing in other states. Responsibilities: • Court Appearances – You will be responsible for preparing and appearing on time for court appearances within a reasonable travel distance. Some overnight travel may be required, and a car is necessary for certain locations. • Court Coverage Placements – You will need to review and request coverage for court calls where you will not be appearing. This includes attaching necessary documents and any required orders for coverage results. • Mid Litigation Motions and Responses – You may be required to draft, review, and file motions during the course of litigation. • Trials and Arbitrations – You may be responsible for preparing for trials and arbitrations, which may involve overnight stays in distant counties. • Communications – You will need to communicate with consumers, their employers, and their attorneys to resolve accounts and suits. Requirements: • Licensed in Kansas and Missouri to practice law, with the option for additional licensing in other states such as IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, and NV. • Comfortable appearing in court and able to consistently arrive on time using your own transportation. • Willingness to travel, with reimbursement for mileage and approved travel expenses. • Strong multitasking abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
