Associate General Counsel- Commercial

They are currently seeking an Associate General Counsel with experience in commercial legal matters to join their team in Beaverton, OR. In this role, the Associate General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing all legal commercial work in the Americas and Asia Pacific regions, providing guidance and support on a variety of legal matters, and managing a small team of commercial contracts professionals. This is a hybrid role, meaning the employee will have the option to work remotely or in the office as needed. Job Title: Associate General Counsel - Commercial Location: Beaverton, OR, United States Employment Type: Full-time Experience Required: 12-15 years Responsibilities: - Oversee all legal commercial work in Americas and APAC, including leading a small, successful commercial contracts team - Draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of complex commercial contracts and transactions - Provide practical and timely counsel to internal partners on various legal matters, including sales and marketing, services, and commercial disputes - Develop and deliver legal training for business partners - Collaborate with global Legal and Compliance teams to ensure a consistent approach to legal issues - Contribute to process improvement projects and implementation of new policies and procedures - Monitor legal and regulatory developments and anticipate risks and opportunities - Supervise external counsel and manage budget appropriately - Assist with M&A due diligence and integration as needed Competencies/Personal Traits: - Unquestionable integrity and excellent judgment - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Proven problem-solving skills and ability to provide solutions - Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and mentor others - Excellent project management and organizational skills - Self-motivated and able to work independently - Proactive attitude and adaptability - Ability to collaborate across all functions and organizational hierarchy - Ability to influence and build followership at all levels Education and Experience Required: - JD from an accredited university - Minimum of 12-15 years of experience, including law firm and in-house experience - Extensive experience negotiating commercial contracts and managing a commercial contract program, preferably at a technology company - Experience managing others as a people leader - Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations - Experience with contract lifecycle management tools preferred - Experience with government agencies and contracting rules preferred Fortive Corporation Overview: - Global industrial technology innovator with a startup spirit - Leading the way in software-powered workflow solutions, data-driven intelligence, AI-powered automation, and other disruptive technologies - Diverse team of 18,000 employees united by a dynamic, inclusive culture - Use of Fortive Business System (FBS) to accelerate positive impact - Belief in the potential of individuals to learn, grow, and make a difference - Commitment to diversity and providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities Operating Company: Tektronix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortive Corporation, is a leading provider of test and measurement solutions.
