JOB TITLE: Full-time Attorney for Client Counseling Unit at Office of the Attorney General

The Office of the Attorney General is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team as a full-time attorney in the Client Counseling Unit. Department: Civil Law Bureau's Client Counseling Unit

Salary Information: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Location: Concord, NH (option for remote work may be available)

Experience: Previous government or in-house experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to the Governor, Executive Council, and executive branch agencies, boards, and commissions.
- Offer expert advice and guidance on a wide range of issues related to state government operations.
- Represent client agencies, boards, and commissions in administrative hearings and appellate proceedings.
- Conduct research and analysis on labor and employment issues, including labor relations, discrimination and disability claims, and wage and hour claims.
- Familiarity with administrative proceedings, grievance proceedings, and arbitrations.
- Draft and negotiate contracts, and handle regulatory actions and administrative procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Right to Know Law, government ethics, and conflicts of interest.
- Participate in public finance matters and provide statutory interpretation.

Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Hampshire Bar or ability to obtain admission within six months.
- Strong understanding of labor and employment laws.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Passion for public interest work and a commitment to advancing important issues.
