Export Control Attorney
West Milton, NY

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as Empowered Official and make jurisdiction and classification determinations for export control purposes
Handle ITAR and EAR license applications and DOE authorizations
Coordinate exports and imports, including conducting restricted party screens and maintaining export-related record keeping functions
Conduct investigations and internal audits as needed
Handle self-disclosures and provide export training to new and current employees
Work collaboratively with employees and Naval Reactors to support overall program goals and needs
Research, analyze, and interpret U.S. and international trade regulations and laws to determine their impact on operations
File Electronic Export Information (EEI) in the Automated Export System (AES) for international shipments
Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers for export clearance purposes
Ensure compliance with export control regulations and laws

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one state (NY, PA, or ID)
3 years of relevant experience
Experience with Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission export regulations, DOE M&O experience preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and laws
Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
Advanced knowledge of ITAR and EAR
Experience with export control applications, licensing, voluntary disclosures, audits, and compliance programs
Familiarity with filing EEI in AES for international shipments
Ability to research, analyze, and interpret U.S. and international trade regulations and laws

Job Description:

The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Export Control Attorney to join their team. In this role, you will serve as the Empowered Official and make jurisdiction and classification determinations for export control purposes. You will handle ITAR and EAR license applications and DOE authorizations, coordinate exports and imports, and conduct investigations and internal audits as needed. You will also handle self-disclosures and provide export training to new and current employees, ensuring compliance with export control regulations and laws.
