Summary:

- Experienced Attorney position available in the Southern Maryland region, including Charles County, Calvert County, St. Mary’s County, and Anne Arundel County.
- The attorney in this position will provide exceptional representation to clients and must have a demonstrated commitment to justice and fairness.

- The position requires exceptional trial skills, investigative skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Attorneys will work in a team-oriented environment with social workers, investigators, and experts.
- The attorney must balance a client-centered approach with advocacy against systemic racism and inequity.
- Office placements will be determined by the needs of MOPD at the time of offer.
- The position requires a Juris Doctorate degree and experience as a practicing attorney.
- Candidates must be admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland.
- Candidates may substitute military service experience for the required experience and education.
- Desired qualifications include a commitment to serving marginalized communities, excellent research and writing skills, and a dedication to addressing systemic racism and prejudice in the criminal legal system.
- Salary is dependent on experience and follows Maryland State salary rules.
