The candidate should also possess effective time and matter management skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Job description:

Law firm Mills & Reeve is currently seeking an Associate/ Senior Associate to join their Real Estate National Service Line (NSL) in Leeds. The successful candidate will work under supervision and assist partners and other fee earners with various commercial property work. Key responsibilities:

- Assist with land acquisitions, including options and conditional contracts
- Handle property investment acquisitions and disposals for both buyers and sellers
- Represent landlords and tenants in the grant of business leases
- Work on retail, leisure, and healthcare development projects (excluding construction)
- Manage general property management tasks such as surrenders, licenses, easements, rent reviews, lease renewals, and property finance

Requirements:

- 3-7 years' PQE or equivalent experience in real estate work (commercial property)
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong technical skills
- Excellent written English and drafting abilities
- Effective time and matter management skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with multiple team members
- Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Property management or development experience is desirable

Client base:

The firm's client base includes developers, corporate occupiers with multi-site holdings, property investors, and global investment funds.

Reporting to:

The successful candidate will work with partner Simon Sherwood and his team, including Partner Andrea Newman, based in Leeds. They will also collaborate with other partners in the RE NSL on specific projects or as part of a wider client service team.
