Are you a licensed attorney in the state of Georgia with experience in criminal law? Do you have a passion for providing zealous representation to indigent clients? If so, the Georgia Public Defender Council wants you to join our team as an Assistant Public Defender II in Augusta, Georgia.

As an Assistant Public Defender II, you will have the opportunity to work on cases of routine complexity in Superior Court and provide competent and zealous representation to indigent clients. You will attend scheduled court appearances, negotiate on behalf of clients, prepare and argue motions, and conduct jury selection, among other duties. Additionally, you will have the chance to attend conferences, seminars, and training events to stay up-to-date on legal changes and developments.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and a license to practice law in the State of Georgia. One or more years of experience as a practicing attorney is also required.
