Join the team at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** as a Staff Attorney, providing civil legal services to eligible individuals in the 11 counties we cover. Our organization, formerly known as Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota, has been dedicated to providing legal representation to low-income clients since 1952. We believe that equal access to justice is a basic human right and are committed to working with community partners to achieve sustainable, holistic resolutions for our clients.

As a Staff Attorney, you will be responsible for legal representation in various areas of poverty law, including family law, orders for protection, landlord/tenant disputes, evictions, utilities, public benefits, consumer issues, and expungement. In addition to direct client services, you will also be involved in community education, outreach, and participation in special projects. This position is primarily remote, but you will be expected to attend in-person hearings, meetings, and events as needed.

To be considered for this position, you must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota or eligible for admission by motion or reciprocity. Experience in poverty law, particularly family law, is preferred but not required. We are looking for someone with excellent written and communication skills, the ability to work constructively with others, and the willingness to work hard and independently. A valid driver's license, vehicle, and willingness to travel for work commitments are also required.

In return, we offer a competitive salary starting at $75,000 according to our salary scale based on years of experience. We also provide an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, life, and disability insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, and generous paid time off. Our organization also observes federal holidays.

If you are passionate about equal access to justice and want to make a difference in the lives of low-income individuals, we encourage you to apply for this position by July 12, 2024. We are an equal opportunity affirmative action employer and strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply. Native American applicants are preferred, but we welcome applications from all backgrounds. Join our team at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** and help us make a positive impact in our community.
