Job Title

Paralegal - Litigation Assistant

Experience

Minimum of 2 years experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and maintain the law firm's day-to-day operations, including administrative services and supporting the legal team.
2. Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
3. Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents.
4. Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with case preparation.
5. Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
6. Manage client billing and resolve billing issues.
7. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
8. Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow.
9. Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
10. Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
2. Associates degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
3. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
4. At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal.
5. Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas preferred.
6. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
7. Strong written and communication skills.
8. Knowledge of legal procedures, practices, and documentation.
9. Highly organized with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 wpm.
