Our program offers meaningful work assignments, valuable guidance from experienced attorneys, and opportunities for social interaction with our team. We are currently seeking candidates who possess strong academic backgrounds and excellent communication skills to join our program. To apply, interested candidates should submit their resume, cover letter, and law school transcript to Kate Davis at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Our Hiring Committee oversees the program, while the "Summer Associates Committee" of associates run the day-to-day operations. Upon joining our program, Summer Associates can identify their desired practice areas for assignments, and we make sure to provide a balance of work in those areas. We also encourage work outside of designated interests to expose Summer Associates to new fields of law. Our summer program provides meaningful work assignments that directly or indirectly serve our clients. We do not believe in "busy work" assignments and ensure that every project is valuable. Summer Associates are matched with an Associate advisor and develop relationships with multiple attorneys for guidance. Assignments are monitored to ensure a balanced workload and a meaningful experience for all participants. Regular feedback is provided through formal and informal evaluations, as well as through one's advisor and the Professional Recruiting Coordinator. Our Summer Associates also have the opportunity to interact with our attorneys and partners through our summer social calendar. Events include a welcome reception, sporting games, and concerts at various venues in the area. We also host informal dinner gatherings where Summer Associates can socialize with our attorneys in a casual setting and learn about their experiences balancing work and personal life. At Calfee, we value the contributions of our Summer Associates and have truly enjoyed meeting exceptional students from across the country. Our attorneys, many of whom started their careers as Summer Associates, are committed to maintaining this mutually rewarding tradition. We consistently hire our new associates from the Summer Associate Program, but we also interview exceptional third-year law students for associate positions based on practice area needs. In order to be considered for our program, we review undergraduate performance, law school achievement, previous employment experience, extracurricular involvement, interpersonal skills, and genuine interest in practicing law in our community and at Calfee. We highly recommend a full summer commitment for those who have not previously worked with us. We look forward to welcoming the 2025 Summer Associates to our team and providing them with a valuable and rewarding experience at Calfee. |
