Bismarck, ND Federal Public Defender for the Districts of South Dakota and North Dakota Organization: Federal Public Defender Position: Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant Experience: Prior law office experience preferred Salary: Starting salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, JSP-6, Step 1 ($44,117) up to JSP-9, Step 10 ($77,955) Benefits: Federal employment benefits, including health and life insurance, retirement, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan Location: Bismarck, North Dakota Application Deadline: Open until filled, priority consideration for applications submitted by June 15, 2024 The Federal Public Defender for the Districts of South Dakota and North Dakota is seeking a Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant to join their team in the Bismarck branch office. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality representation to individuals charged with federal crimes who cannot afford to hire an attorney. The ideal candidate will have prior law office experience, effective communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
