The Clare County Prosecutor's Office is seeking an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney to join our team. We welcome attorneys of all experience levels to apply, but this position is ideal for newer attorneys looking for courtroom experience and exposure to a variety of cases. Within 6 months to a year, the chosen attorney will have their own felony level caseload with our office. Clare County is the perfect place to live and work, with its small town charm and abundance of outdoor activities. The county also offers numerous trailheads for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicle use. As an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, you will work under the direct supervision of the Prosecuting Attorney and Chief Assistant Prosecutor. Your duties will include motion practice, warrant review and charge decisions, jury trials, plea negotiations, search warrant review, and legal research. Depending on your experience level, you may be assigned cases in District, Circuit, and Family courts. To be considered for this position, you must be a licensed member of the Michigan State Bar Association in good standing. This is an ARPA funded position through 2026, providing job security and stability for the chosen candidate.
