This full-time position will involve handling a variety of prosecutorial duties, including reviewing warrant requests, conducting pre-trial and trial matters, and providing advice to law enforcement officers. The successful candidate must be proficient in legal research and writing, possess common sense, and have the ability to make independent plea negotiation decisions within office policy parameters. As an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, you will play a crucial role in the criminal justice system of Sanilac County. Your responsibilities will include reviewing search warrants, handling paternity and child support matters, and appearing in mental proceedings. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate with other agencies and handle any other prosecutorial issues that may arise. This position offers a dynamic and challenging work environment, with duties that may be adjusted at any time. To qualify for this position, applicants must have a law degree from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. Prior experience in criminal trial law is preferred. The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney will also participate in an on-call rotation.
