Senior Employment Law Attorney II
Whitefish, MT Senior Employment Law Attorney II Job Type: Full-time Description: A Senior Employment Law Attorney II is a high-level attorney with 5 years of experience in law practice. They are expected to have a book of clients and be able to work independently with minimal support. The Senior Attorney II will receive a substantial portion (approximately 60%) of their work through Gravis Law's lead generation and marketing efforts, as well as referrals from other attorneys in the office. They are also responsible for generating 40% of their own billable work. The firm offers coaching and support services for attorney development and networking, and prioritizes work-life balance, a collaborative culture, and a competitive compensation and incentive structure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Mediating disputes between employers and employees - Representing clients in trials - Conducting legal research and analyzing complex legal issues - Drafting legal documents such as memorandums, briefs, and letters - Marketing services to potential clients - Reviewing electronic and hard copy information for litigation preparation - Performing due diligence in all matters - Strong communication and advocacy skills, including empathetic listening - Managing schedule to meet production and collection objectives - Closing consultations at a rate of 30-50% depending on practice area - Timely approval of invoices to ensure financial health of the business - Utilizing support staff effectively and efficiently - Updating client information and billing accurately in the firm's system - Sharing work tasks with other attorneys and support staff if over-subscribed - Actively promoting personal and firm brand through blogs, social media, and organization participation - Seeking positive feedback from satisfied clients and obtaining positive reviews Other job-related duties as assigned. The Senior Attorney II is expected to bill an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices while working a full-time schedule. This equates to billing 30 hours per week for 50 weeks of the year. Requirements: Minimum Requirements: - Excellent writing and interpersonal skills - Strong legal research skills - Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school - Admitted to the bar in the state in which they intend to practice, or eligible for reciprocal admission - 5 years of experience as an attorney *Equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Work Environment/Conditions/Physical Demands: This job is primarily performed in a standard office setting. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance as per Gravis policy.
