**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Law Firm is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Catastrophic Injury Lawyer to join our Complex Injury Claims Team in our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities:
As a Catastrophic Injury Lawyer at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***, you will work as part of a team to manage a caseload of complex injury claims. Your responsibilities will include:

• Progressing each file from receipt of papers to resolution of the claim, dealing with all aspects of liability and quantum.
• Communicating with sophisticated insurer clients and providing advice on all aspects of claims.
• Developing relationships with clients to establish confidence in your knowledge and understanding of their cases.
• Conducting forensic and detailed investigations to preserve levers for interim payments and care claims.
• Using your expertise to identify potential opportunities for set-off against Periodical Payment Orders (PPOs) for care.
• Utilizing expert evidence, medical records, and other sources to ensure all relevant details are considered.
• Thinking strategically and providing strategic advice on issues that impact catastrophic injury claims.
• Using Ogden Tables and building complex illustrative spreadsheets to assess quantum.
• Building rapport with solicitors for other parties and engaging in discussions around the case.
• Attending site visits, meetings, and mediations.
• Engaging with counsel and experts in conferences and on the phone.
• Meeting agreed performance targets and quality standards.
• Delegating tasks to junior team members and supporting their development.
• Maintaining case management systems with up-to-date information for clients.
• Ensuring compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications and experience:

• Qualified solicitor, CILEX or proven relevant legal experience.
• Significant experience in handling or assisting on large loss or catastrophic injury files.
• Understanding of case law, litigation practice and process, and Court Practice Rules.
• Strong knowledge of insurance principles.
• Experience in advising on contested interim payment applications.
• Ability to plan and prioritize workloads on complex cases.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
• Driven and proactive attitude towards development and growth.
• Ability to remain calm and re-prioritize when under pressure.
