The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Assistant Attorney General in the Child Support Division. This position is responsible for representing the State of Texas in legal proceedings related to child support and medical support orders. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited university, as well as being licensed as an attorney in the State of Texas and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Experience in Family Law and the Texas Family Code is preferred, along with strong skills in legal writing, mediation, negotiation, and trial work. Salary: $6,458.34 - $8,571.00 per month

H2: Represent the State of Texas in legal proceedings related to child support and medical support orders

- Represent the State of Texas at legal proceedings to locate, establish, enforce, modify, or terminate court orders for child support and medical support.
- Provide legal advice, consultation, and technical assistance to the Child Support Program.
- Develop and deliver training to colleagues and state agencies.
- Conduct investigations and legal research.
- Maintain knowledge of Family Law and the Texas Family Code.
- Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree from an accredited university.
- Licensed attorney in the State of Texas and member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Strong skills in legal writing, mediation, negotiation, and trial work.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location and travel up to 25%.
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA.
- Two years' experience in handling Family Law cases preferred.
- Jury Trial Experience preferred.
- Experience in handling a high-volume legal practice preferred.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish preferred.
