Littleton, NH Staff Attorney - Full-time Position with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Job Description: - The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking to fill several vacancies for the position of Staff Attorney. - This position is full-time and is dedicated to serving the mission of protecting and defending the rights and dignity of clients with courage, compassion, and competency. - The office is committed to providing high-quality representation to indigent clients, with a focus on the distinct needs of youth and adults. - The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively communicate with clients, anticipate legal issues, and make sound legal arguments in the courtroom. - They must also be able to work independently and collaboratively with others. Responsibilities: - The new public defender will initially handle a smaller caseload consisting of misdemeanor and youth cases. - As they gain experience and professional growth, their caseload will increase to include felony cases and co-counseling opportunities with experienced lawyers. - Within the first year, the new lawyer will be responsible for a full caseload consisting of felonies, misdemeanors, delinquency matters, and other post-conviction matters. - Full-time and part-time positions are available. Requirements: - Applicants must have a J.D. from an accredited law school or anticipate graduating from an accredited law school in 2024. - They must also be admitted to the New Hampshire Bar, eligible to waive into the New Hampshire Bar with a qualifying Uniform Bar Examination score, or qualified for, prepared to take, and pass the New Hampshire Bar Examination in 2024. - A valid driver's license is required. - The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to criminal defense, a team-oriented and professional attitude, and strong communication skills. - They must also possess a strong work ethic.
