Law Firm is looking to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate to join the highly regarded Newcastle Family team. This is a superb opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise working as part of a long established regional team as well as an award-winning top tier National Family team in one of the UK‘s leading law firms.

H2: Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate to join the highly regarded Newcastle Family team from Silk Family Law, who will (subject to approval) shortly become a part of Irwin Mitchell.

Silk Family Law was founded in 2010 and has been ranked consistently by the leading independent legal guides as top tier (Legal 500) and band one (Chambers) since inception. Many of the firm’s partners and senior associates are also highlighted individually within the guides.

You will be working within a high specialised and experienced team of Family law professionals representing clients in a variety of matrimonial and family law cases including finance and children matters. The team have particular expertise in dealing with complex issues such as business assets, farming businesses, trusts and pensions and cases with an international dimension.

H2: About You

Law Firm is looking for someone who is:

A sound all-round knowledge of family law and procedure - used to dealing with and leading on both day-to-day and high value, complex cases with a high standard of drafting skills
Experienced and confident in meeting with clients and advising face to face and remotely
Experienced in advocacy in the family court and/or in other public speaking environments
A natural team player with a professional and collegiate approach to working with clients and colleagues
Having well rounded client service skills with the ability to empathise with a wide range of clients in order to resolve the most sensitive and complicated practicalities involved in family break-ups
Demonstrating ambition, energy and enthusiasm for continuing to build a successful Family law team at the top of the market. Confident in developing relationships with other professionals and referrers as part of personal and firm-wide business development plans

We believe the role would suit someone with around 4 – 5 plus PQE but are happy to consider applications from those outside of this bracket if you feel that you could add value to the role.
