General Description of Position:
Performs specific duties related to the Office of Resource Development. Position reports to Executive Director of Resource Development.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Director of Resource Development with all aspects of fund raising, friend raising and media relations.
Create reports and access scholarship information using NEXTGEN scholarship Manager.
Manage and coordinate annual scholarship awarding process, serve as the liaison to the financial aid department, track student thank you letters, and organize student scholarship recipients’ attendance at donor events.
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising events, donor stewardship, follow-up phone calls, recognition and the coordination of Circle of Ivy activities.
Assist with the planning and implementation of the employee fundraising campaign for both campuses: Lake County and Valparaiso/MC/LaPorte
Assist with drafting and editing solicitation documents, as well as proofread grant proposals.
Assist with creating marketing materials for all fundraising activities events.
Create reports and provide data analysis on special assignments as required.
Assist with meeting fund raising strategic goals and objectives of the Lake County and Valparaiso campuses.
Maintain donor database system for Resource Development Office including donor and media information.
Process contributions and miscellaneous income; maintain financial records as required for the Foundation.
Research donor information and prospect data as needed for Resource Development Office.
Assist in the development, creation, and dissemination of Resource Development fundraising newsletters.
Compose Resource Development activity correspondences for Executive Director of Resource Development and Chancellor(s) signatures.
Assist with coordinating Resource Development committee’s activities including notification of meetings, preparing correspondence, and maintaining records relating to committee activities.
Maintain confidentiality of donors and gift information.
Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
This position is fully in-person, remote work is not available.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in related field.
Experience in fund development, research, event planning or marketing.
Proficient word processing/computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Publisher and Adobe Acrobat preferred. Experience with donor software helpful.
Excellent communication, human relations, and organizational skills.
Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and ability to keep business information confidential.
Experience working with volunteers.
Must possess the willingness and ability to travel with some evening and weekend work throughout the Lake County and Valparaiso service area. Occasional meetings in Indianapolis and other campuses around the State of Indiana. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or Microsoft Office Systems certification preferred.

Work Hours:
