Assistant Director TRIO/Student Support Services
Richmond, IN Work type: Full Time Administrative Location: Richmond, IN Categories: Academic Advising/Academic Support, Administrative/Professional, Student Affairs/Student Services General Description of Position: The Assistant Director is responsible for the development, implementation and tracking of various group activities and individual services offered by the Student Support Services program. Currently, this role provides direct management and oversight of both the individual coaching of TRIO students and the academic tutoring of program participants. Major Responsibilities: Program planning and development. Individual academic coaching, record-keeping and reporting. Coordinate recruitment of student applicants for the Student Support Services program. Advise participants in the completion of the RMS College Student Inventory, and development of individual education/career plans. Plan, organize and promote peer learning activities. Plan, organize and promote campus and community connection events. Record activity attendance and participation data for each Student Support Services participant (financial aid, scholarships, employment opportunities, social services, etc.). Assist the Project Director in program reporting and evaluation. Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and complete confidentiality. The above listed functions require various degrees of independence, judgment and discretion, and the ability to be mobile in the office and/or work area. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of one-year relevant experience demonstrating leadership qualities preferably in the social service or educational setting. Successful applicants should be knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of low income or academically disadvantaged students. The Assistant Director should be computer literate and available to work flexible hours. Other Requirements: This is a 100% grant-funded position with an anticipated grant end date of August 31, 2025. Although the grant is expected to end on that date, sometimes additional funding can be obtained to extend a grant beyond the end date. If that would occur, your employment under the grant might also be extended. However, you should be aware that your employment as a staff employee of Ivy Tech Community College is considered to be at will and may be terminated by you or the College at any time regardless of the end date of the grant.
