General Description of Position:
Performs assistant director duties for the Office of Development. Provides leadership support to the Columbus chapter of the Ivy Tech Alumni Association.
Major Responsibilities:
• Supports Executive Director of Development (EDD) in all areas of fundraising with stakeholders to further the mission of the College. Maintains confidentiality of donors and gift information.
• Assists EDD in creation and execution of annual fundraising plans.
• Writes and edits fundraising and/or marketing materials and supports digital engagement of stakeholders through social media, crowdfunding and related platforms.
• Supports engagement of giving groups through strategic communications, programming and marketing.
• Supports donor relations through various channels, including event planning and execution.
• Assists with campaign cabinet activities, including coordination of volunteer cultivation and solicitation calls as needed. Provides support to staff, volunteers and faculty in making contacts for financial support, including notification of meetings, preparing correspondence and maintaining records relating to committee activities.
• Researches donor information and prospect data as needed.
• Ensures correct and proper stewardship of gifts, including appropriately recording, receipting and managing contributions; and serving as Development liaison with Office of Financial Aid for scholarship administration.
• Maintains financial records and donor database systems.
• Processes purchase requisitions and maintains A/P records.
• Supports administration of student emergency assistance and related funds.
• Serves as staff support to campus alumni council, including planning and implementing events.
• Communicates on a scheduled basis with alumni, including engagement through social media.
• Participates in statewide alumni meetings and activities as campus representative.
• Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and experience in fund development and event planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management.
• Excellent communications, human relations and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and to keep business information confidential.
• Experience working with volunteers.
• Team player required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Marketing background strongly desired.
Hiring Range:
$37,500 - $ 42,000
