In-house Counsel

Key Responsibilities

Drafting and reviewing leases, legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements related to landlord-tenant disputes.
Representing company in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings related to landlord-tenant issues.
Providing legal guidance and support to company throughout the legal process.
Collaborating with company personnel, opposing counsel, and court officials to facilitate efficient and effective case resolution.
Staying abreast of changes in landlord-tenant laws and regulations.
Maintaining accurate and up to date case files documentation and billing records.
Handling administration of entities, including drafting and filing documents for routine transactions such as company formation, foreign qualification, mergers, withdrawals, annual reports and assumed name registrations, case tracking, trial preparation, and general coordination of cases.
Candidates must have strong attention to detail and excellent organization and communication skills.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience.
Experience with real estate/landlord-tenant based case law.
Experience with rent due, collections, and holdover lease signing.
NYC law knowledge.
Membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal team members and opposing counsel.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and work independently.
