Criminal Defense Attorney Requirements:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Texas
At least 1-2 years of criminal defense experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Willingness to travel to Travis, Hayes, and Williamson counties for court appearances
Strong communication skills and ability to work well with clients going through difficult times
Ability to collaborate effectively with paralegals and support staff
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and prioritize tasks effectively
Empathy and patience when dealing with clients in stressful situations
High level of professionalism and ethical standards
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and remain composed in court settings

 

Criminal Defense Attorney Responsibilities:

Represent clients in criminal defense cases, primarily in Travis, Hayes, and Williamson counties
Manage client interactions, providing updates and ensuring clear communication throughout the legal process
Conduct thorough discovery and develop pre-trial diversion plans
Handle a busy caseload, averaging around 90 cases, with daily court appearances
Collaborate with the team in-office to strategize and review cases post-court appearances
Participate in firm-wide training and community volunteer events
