Compliance Specialist
Monterey Park, CA

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring all SynerMed employees and providers meet regulatory requirements regarding the Standards of Conduct, exclusion checks, HIPAA breaches and fraud, waste and abuse incidents.  The Compliance Specialist will assist with risk assessments, internal auditing, internal monitoring and the overall maintenance of SynerMed’s Compliance Program.  The Compliance Specialist works under the direction of the Compliance Director to ensure SynerMed is in compliance with all regulatory requirements. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Must have a Business Associates Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience
The ability to communicate with others clearly, tactfully and professionally
Strong computer skills with a broad knowledge of software packages
Able to follow directions and perform independently according to departmental standards when no directions are given
Must be detail oriented and possess the desire to learn new tasks
Must speak, read and write English

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience with HIPAA, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, DHCS, DMHC, Regulatory Audits, CMS, OIG_GSA exclusion checks, etc.
