HRIS Analyst
Manhattan, NY HRIS Analyst #24-242 New York, New York Deadline is 3:00 PM EST for Date Listed 2024-11-26 Job Description Under the direction of the HRIS Operations Manager, the HRIS Analyst is responsible for supporting and optimizing the Legal Aid Society’s Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to support HR functions and organizational objectives. This role supports the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of HRIS operations, contributes to data-driven decision-making, and supports the overall mission of the firm through effective data management and system improvements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Data Analysis & Visualization Writes HR reports to answer questions, provide information, and support operational procedures Designs, builds, and maintains data visualization and distribution tools, providing timely access to essential personnel information to leadership and operations professionals Analyzes data to provides insights into workforce metrics, trends, and compliance issues Recommends HR new metrics and methodologies to support organizational objectives Data Entry & Transaction Processing Supports HR and Payroll teams with routine data entry and quality assurance Reviews and processes various staffing transactions throughout the employee lifecycle Supports systems components for onboarding procedures for new employees Maintains knowledge of HR policies and procedures and applies knowledge to workflows Applies a critical lens to data processing, escalates data errors and systems issues as needed Data Quality Maintenance Supports routine compliance and data quality assurance procedures across a variety of topics as directed Conducts data analysis and audits to identify inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and gaps in data Performs data entry and correction of issues uncovered User Support & Documentation Maintains documentation of processes, data definitions, business rules, and access rules Offers training and support to HR staff and other HRIS and Data Dashboard end-users Responds to inquiries about data sources, definitions, update schedules, and other logistics Conducts consultations with data consumers to understand needs and makes recommendations Professional Development and other duties as assigned Participates in continuous professional development as directed Continuously learns about forms of bias in the workplace and demonstrates affirmative behaviors that support an inclusive work environment Continuously learns about relevant employment law changes Continuously learns about data privacy and security best practices Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree PLUS two (2) years of experience in Human Resources or Data Analytics OR equivalent six (6) years of combined education/work experience Position Based Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Excel fundamentals Proficiency with relevant mathematics including statistics, arithmetic, ratios, percentages, etc. Relevant certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR) are a plus Proficiency with HRIS software (e.g., ADP, Workday, BambooHR) Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) Organizational Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Commitment to Legal Aid Society’s mission to secure equal justice before the law for all New Yorkers Interpersonal and communication skills that enable healthy and productive working relationships Ability to perform duties with the highest regard for confidentiality, integrity, and respect Commitment to Legal Aid Society’s mission and values Physical, environment, travel, and other duties required Mostly sedentary, significant time using a computer; communicating and meeting using video May require occasional travel within NYC, across the five boroughs REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Please submit these documents as a single combined PDF when you apply via the LAS (Legal Aid Society) Recruitment Portal. The specific salary offers will be dependent on candidate qualifications, including collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles.
