About the role A rare opportunity exists for the right individual to join our busy Maintenance team at our Kwinana workshop. This role is responsible for carrying out high standards of work that is cost effective – from small welding jobs through to complete new fabrications. You will work on a diverse range of equipment including gas transport tankers and gas storage. In this varied and interesting role, your key responsibilities include: Support breakdown repairs, maintenance, calls outs and providing relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of cost, efficiency and equipment integrity. Providing technical knowledge to assist with problem solving, and responding to callouts and unplanned maintenance in a timely manner. Perform welding duties from high standard pipe welding carbon and stainless steel through to structural frame to brackets, as well as heavy goods vehicles and semi-trailers. Carry out work in within budgets, timeframes, specifications and drawings. Following workplace occupational health and safety policies and procedures for hazard identification and risk assessment, and ensuring safety remains our number one priority in the workplace. This role will require coverage for plant breakdowns and callouts after hours, as well as scheduled shutdowns. To excel in the role you’ll need the right mix of skills and experience, which for this position means: Trade qualification required with demonstrated experience Previous experience in pipe welding experience - in TIG and STICK welding. Reading and following weld procedure specifications (WPS). Must be able to pre-qualify to (6G tests) GTAW/MMAW - 100% X-Ray. Ability to read piping isometric drawings. Hold a current and valid Working at Heights, Confined Space ticket and EWP ticket. A strong focus on safety. Organised, reliable and self-motivated who can work both independently and as part of a team.
