At Michael Best, we are looking to add a Partner with 7 years of experience to our Corporate, Venture Capital and Emerging Growth team, “Venture Best”. The partner can be located in our Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Wilmington, NC office.

What We Look For: Our ideal candidate must have strong experience in the following:
Working closely with entrepreneurs and their VC and angel investors, to help new, rapidly growing companies find financial backing and expand their businesses Mergers and acquisitions and general corporate governance Structuring, forming, and operating all types of investment funds Counseling fund clients on implementing investment strategies and deploying fund capital in a variety of industries and structures Advising clients on a variety of regulatory and compliance needs Triaging issues with specialists in tax, intellectual property, employment and other specialist areas Experience in licensing and technology transactions and/or securities is a plus.

Knowledge Base & Education:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school 7 years of corporate or transactional experience Strong drafting and organizational skills Strong ability to manage clients and opposing counsel Excellent academic credentials Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Valid authorization to work in the U.S.

For Colorado applicants only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act): The starting salary for associate positions in our Denver office is $190,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Associates are eligible to participate in Michael Best’s associate bonus program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions. This position is considered full-time and is therefore eligible to participate in employer-sponsored benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, as well as elective/voluntary life, disability, and accident coverage. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the firm's 401k plan.
