Our Law Firm is a mission-driven law firm dedicated to advocating for tenants’ rights and fighting against illegal housing practices. We provide aggressive legal representation to individuals facing wrongful evictions, habitability violations, and landlord harassment under California and federal law. Our team is passionate about ensuring justice and housing security for our clients. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trial Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate has courtroom experience, a strong background in tenant rights litigation, and a commitment to social justice. This role involves representing clients in litigation, preparing legal documents, advocating for tenants in various proceedings, and trying cases in Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent tenants in habitability claims and housing-related litigation. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and motions. Manage a caseload and oversee all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial negotiations to courtroom advocacy. Argue motions, conduct depositions, and examine witnesses at trial. Provide legal counseling to clients and develop case strategies. Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff to ensure excellent legal representation. Stay updated on relevant state and federal laws affecting tenants’ rights.
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar. 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in housing law, civil rights, or public interest law. Strong courtroom presence and ability to advocate effectively for clients. Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Passion for tenant advocacy and social justice. Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases efficiently. Fluency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken by tenants. Can work remotely, must be able to drive to LA Courthouses for necessary FSC Trials only.
