The Role
As a Transportation Litigation Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging cases and stay at the forefront of emerging legal issues. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and attending court hearings and mediations. This role also offers the opportunity to work with talented colleagues across the country and provide sound counsel to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage a litigation caseload, overseeing cases from beginning to end - Conduct legal research and analysis related to transportation laws and regulations - Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents - Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations - Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients - Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices - Draft case analysis reports to client stakeholders
Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA accredited law school - Admitted to practice in the state of New York - 3-5 years of general casualty litigation experience - Transportation and logistics, trucking, and related regulatory experience preferred - Deposition and motion practice experience required - Trial experience preferred - Superior analytical skills - Strong written and oral communication skills
Compensation and Benefits:
At Wilson Elser, we value our employees and offer a competitive compensation package that includes a salary range of $135,000 - $155,000 USD.
