Team Manager, General Liability – Zurich North America
In this role, you will lead and direct a team of technical Claims Professionals in Commercial General Liability claims with moderate oversight. You will be responsible for driving superior claims results and achieving customer satisfaction targets. As a key member of the team, you will also contribute to the company's overall performance and success.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and direct a team of Claims Professionals in Commercial General Liability claims • Drive superior claims results by providing direction, technical guidance, and tracking key metrics • Achieve customer satisfaction targets by building and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues, external customers, and brokers • Analyze and resolve quality and customer service problems • Review claims files, identify trends, and recommend improvements to achieve best practices • Manage corporate expenses by monitoring file allocations, resources, and other expenditures • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal control requirements • Provide claims insights to assist business units in product development, customer/broker stewardship, and prospect meetings • Motivate and lead a high-performance team by attracting, onboarding, recruiting, and retaining team members • Drive the performance management process by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback, and facilitating employee development • Maintain transparent communication with the team through meetings, one-on-one sessions, and regular interpersonal communications • Create a workplace culture consistent with the company's mission, vision, and values • Maintain confidentiality of claims information to protect the company's reputation • Stay updated on professional and technical knowledge through education and networking opportunities • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor and 5 years of experience in Claims, or Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience, or High School Diploma and 8 years of experience • Customer service experience • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Experience collaborating across work groups • Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the legal and regulatory environment • Ability to travel up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing commercial general liability claims, specifically in construction • People management experience • Claims operations experience • Knowledge and skill in claims handling • Negotiation experience • Analytical skills
Salary Range: $96,300.00 - $157,700.00 nationwide Location: Schaumburg, Addison, Atlanta, Maitland, Omaha, Overland Park, Parsippany, Rocky Hill, Sacramento Remote Working: Hybrid Schedule: Full Time

• Compensation varies depending on factors such as location, role, skill set, and experience • Zurich provides a reasonable range of compensation in compliance with local laws • Additional rewards may include short term incentive bonuses and merit increases • Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education • The starting salary range for this position is $96,300.00 - $157,700.00
