Overview:
Forvis Mazars is seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead and manage the Information Reporting and Withholding Tax Practice within a fast-growing public accounting firm. This position will focus on serving clients in the financial services sector, ranging from middle-market companies to publicly traded corporations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in U.S. tax with a focus on information reporting and withholding, as well as experience with FATCA and CRS regulations and standards. This role will involve developing operational models and centralized processes, as well as providing strategic direction for the practice and nurturing a deep understanding of clients' industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of Information Reporting and Withholding Tax practice, focusing on compliance with U.S. internal revenue code section 871(m), FATCA, QI Agreement, and OECD CMR. - Manage a team dedicated to serving financial services clients with FATCA and CRS reporting obligations. - Oversee the delivery of full-range Information Reporting and Withholding Tax compliance for financial services companies. - Develop operational models and centralized processes for the practice. - Apply personal tax technical acumen to each client project. - Lead FATCA quality review and provide operational improvements. - Implement FATCA and CRS strategy for compliance with regulatory requirements. - Assist clients with data organization and analysis for information reporting and withholding tax purposes. - Assist clients with developing and enhancing internal processes and technology for timely and accurate information reporting filings. - Provide leadership for staffing, career development, engagement opportunities, and strategic direction for the practice. - Demonstrate strategic thinking and execution in line with the firm's focus and future of the tax service line. - Align with the company's values and mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
- CPA, Juris Doctor/LLM Taxation, Enrolled Agent, or MBA. - 9 years of U.S. tax experience with a focus on information reporting in a CPA or law firm, or financial company. - Strong analytical, research, computational, data analysis, writing, and planning skills.
Salary Information:
- The salary range displayed is for the New York markets and will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. - Total compensation and benefits include salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. - Forvis Mazars reserves the right to make changes to the salary range based on business needs.
New York Salary Range:
- Minimum Salary: $181,400 USD - Maximum Salary: $290,000 USD
