Title: Tax Senior Manager - Real Estate Tax Location: East Region City Locations Salary Range: $119,490 - $272,090 Department: Business Tax Services
Position Summary:
Deloitte is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager with a strong background in federal tax and a focus on real estate owners and operators. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tax technologies and develop creative strategies for clients in the real estate industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules.
Responsibilities:
- Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector - Assist clients with life events for partnerships, such as formations, mergers, and initial public offerings - Utilize proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes and ensure worldwide compliance - Maintain and develop strong client relationships in the real estate industry - Advise clients on various tax issues, including REIT Qualification, Tax Reform, business restructuring, and tax controversy - Oversee complex federal tax projects and manage engagement team resources - Mentor and develop junior staff, providing leadership and career guidance
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week - Willingness to travel up to 25% for client work - 8 years of corporate or international tax experience - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field - Licensed CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent - Strong understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills - Excellent communication and research skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor junior staff
Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm - Familiarity with US tax and real estate industry - Demonstrated management experience
