RSM, a global provider of professional services, is seeking a GES Tax Manager to join their international tax practice. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with clients and key decision makers in various industries and geographies, providing expertise in remote working analysis, tax consulting and compliance, global equity tracking, assignment planning, business travelers, and social security. As a GES Manager, you will be responsible for managing client expectations, reviewing and signing tax returns, developing global mobility policies, and overseeing resource allocation and workflow. This is a dynamic role that requires both technical expertise and exceptional client service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Interact directly with clients to address questions, concerns, and planning needs - Manage client expectations and deliver services to expatriate employees of corporate clients - Review and sign simple to complex expatriate and foreign national inbound US income tax returns, tax equalizations, and other tax forms - Develop and review tax equalization and global mobility policies - Review international assignment-related calculations such as tax cost projections, hypothetical tax calculations, payroll and compensation calculations - May have Performance Advisor responsibilities, including mentoring and coaching staff in tax software, research skills, and project management - Manage resource allocation, workflow, and resource utilization - Identify and pursue growth opportunities for the firm - Monitor and manage the billing process
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study - CPA, EA or JD certification - Minimum of six years of experience in a public accounting environment - Working knowledge of foreign jurisdictions' individual income tax rules - Familiarity with transfer pricing principles, intercompany cost charging, and accounting for hypothetical tax - Comprehensive understanding of tax law and implications - Working knowledge of common human resources considerations in a global mobility program - Experience preparing and reviewing international individual income tax returns - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Up to 5% travel required - Hybrid remote work arrangement available
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in taxation (MST, MBA, or LLM) - Recent international tax experience with a national or regional public accounting firm - Working knowledge of transfer pricing, income tax treaties, and foreign tax regimes
