Job Description
Grant Thornton is seeking a Tax Associate to join our Winter 2026 team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Juris Doctorate, or Tax LLM and a minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred. This position offers a base salary of $79,900 per year and provides opportunities for career growth and development, an attractive compensation and incentive program, and generous benefits including immediate participation in our 401(k) plan.
Responsibilities:
Tax consulting and return preparation, including research, planning, and digital work paper preparation Working with a variety of entities and industries Reviewing data input and resolving technical tax issues Responding to inquiries from taxing authorities Assisting in training junior staff members Identifying and completing projects as assigned Building strong client relationships and working collaboratively with client teams Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Juris Doctorate, or Tax LLM Minimum major and overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 preferred Completion of necessary education hours for CPA licensure or licensed attorney status Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong technical aptitude and project management skills Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment Willingness to work additional hours and travel as needed
