Bering Straits Technical Services (BSTS is currently looking for a Supply Technician to work on a government project at Ft. Meade, MD. The ideal candidate must have DPAS experience along with an active Secret Clearance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES MUST HAVE ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE Hands on experience with DPAS Monitors and analyzes Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) to determine the accuracy of all accountability records. Researches FEDLOG, Internet, and regulations for purification (federal stock number, manufacture code and part number,management control number) of cataloging within DPAS. Creates reports referencing accountability of ammunition and explosives and property for reference and action by customers in accordance with DPAS regulations. Writes item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels in accordance with DPAS, AR708-1 Logistics Management Data and Cataloging of Supplies and Equipment, regulations. Initiates various transactions to update various databases (e.g., DPAS, Turn-in database.) Contacts representatives of commercial firms to obtain information regarding new items of supply based on Government requisitions. Provides inventory and property accountability using automated bar code scanner. NON - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements : Required: High school graduate or equivalent A security clearance commensurate with property handled or computer systems accessed. Minimum of two (2) years Standard Base Supply related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires driving and working out of doors in extreme heat/ cold and possibly rainy weather and be able to work shifts if needed. Physical stamina and strength in all of its forms (endurance, temperature/ climate, stress, etc) is necessary SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS Ability to Obtain a SECRET clearance (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Accordingly, U.S. Citizenship is required.) Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
