Supervising Attorney, Mat-Su and Kenai: Leading the Legal Team in Alaska
ALSC (**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***) is seeking a highly experienced attorney to take on the role of Supervising Attorney for their Mat-Su Valley and Kenai Peninsula offices. This position is responsible for overseeing the legal team, managing caseloads, and maintaining a general caseload including litigation before courts and administrative agencies. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of legal experience and be admitted to practice law in Alaska or eligible for a waiver. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of low-income individuals and communities throughout Alaska.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise attorney and support staff in the Mat-Su Valley and Kenai Peninsula offices • Manage caseloads and review cases • Maintain a general caseload including litigation before courts and administrative agencies • Oversee administrative functions of the offices • Prepare grant applications and reports • Serve as an agency representative in the community, including conducting community legal education • Travel within the regions for client intake and services
Requirements:
• Minimum of three years legal experience • Admitted to practice law in Alaska or eligible for a waiver • Computer proficiency in Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Internet, e-mail and data entry
Highly Desired:
• Management experience • Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals • Background working in cross-cultural situations
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from $76,967 to $115,446, depending on experience. ALSC also offers a generous benefits and leave package, including partial reimbursement of relocation expenses. Personal leave begins at six weeks per year for a full-time employee and the organization observes 15 paid holidays.
