Job Description
Legal interns perform legal research and writing and work closely with experienced attorneys and investigators on a variety of assignments, including individual and class complaints as well as compliance reviews (compliance reviews are OCR-initiated reviews focusing on specific compliance problems that are particularly acute or national in scope). Legal assignments may range from interviewing complainants and drafting witness statements to participating in the mediation of complaints. Legal interns will be expected to conduct legal research and draft substantive legal documents under the supervision of OCR attorneys, including at least one formal legal memorandum on a novel question of law related to OCR’s work.
