As a Staff Counsel for SCRI, you will play a critical role in supporting the legal needs of this joint venture between McKesson and HCA Healthcare. Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal support to SCRI and its businesses, focusing on clinical trials, drug development, and regulatory compliance in the oncology field. - Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines. - Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including clinical trial agreements, research services agreements, and vendor contracts. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. - Prepare legal presentations and memoranda for senior attorneys and present to senior business unit leaders. - Recommend and implement contracting policies, procedures, and processes. - Coordinate with colleagues to identify regulatory issues and assess business impact risk. - Exercise independent judgment in escalating issues within defined policies and procedures. - Work closely with business leaders and develop effective working relationships. - Stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Utilize online collaboration, project management, and file organization software. - Participate in regular job market evaluations and geographical market analysis to determine competitive compensation. - Comply with all applicable regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a regulatory environment. - 2 years of legal experience in a corporate legal department or law firm. - Juris Doctor degree and current Bar membership. - Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. - Proficient in Office word processing programs or equivalent. - Organizational and project management skills. - Ability to work effectively with business leaders. - Experience with online collaboration, project management, and file organization software (MS Office 365, MS Teams, MS PowerPoint) preferred.
