Position Description: - Full-time General Practice Staff Attorney in White Plains, NY office - Handles Elder Law and General Practice Matters - Duties include individual case work, administrative advocacy, litigation, and education and outreach efforts - Expected to adhere to program and case handling standards and be available as a resource to staff and access to justice communities - May require occasional appearances in night court
Qualifications: - Admission to the New York State Bar or out of state admission with eligibility for pro hac vice status - Minimum of one year legal experience, preferably with litigation and high volume caseloads - Excellent people skills, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to handle high stress situations - Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders
Preferred: - Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income persons, with prior experience in legal services or similar program
Salary and Benefits: - Salary range of $71,879 - $126,373, DOE, union scale - Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability coverages - Defined contribution to 403b, loan repayment assistance, and paid parental leave - Work from home option after probationary period
