Job Description: • The Senior Staff Attorney and Staff Attorney will handle a designated caseload of Workers’ Compensation cases appearances before the California Workers' Compensation Boards in Riverside, San Diego, Santa Ana, Pomona and San Bernardino. • The selected candidate will be part of a collaborative learning environment with onsite appearances in partnership with our Attorney Staff. • The team is committed to personal growth as they strive to provide excellent customer service to insureds. • The role also includes acting as a CLE provider throughout the year. • Responsibilities include analyzing complex legal and factual issues, conducting legal research, creating and presenting defense strategies, preparing pleadings and other legal documents, partnering with Claims Partners, providing effective and timely communication and legal advice, communicating with the court and other parties, facilitating prompt and efficient resolution of cases, preparing and presenting evidence at trials and hearings, and participating in team huddles, in-house training, and claims file reviews. • Qualifications for the Staff Attorney position include a minimum of 3 years of legal practice experience, JD from an accredited law school, license to practice in California, and trial experience is preferred. • Qualifications for the Sr Staff Attorney position include a minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience, JD from an accredited law school, license to practice in California, and trial experience is preferred. • The position is primarily remote, but travel within the designated geography may be required up to 4 days per week. • Flexible work arrangements and a business casual work environment are offered.
Compensation: • The annualized base pay range is $114,800 - $192,000, with the potential for additional rewards such as bonuses and incentives. • The actual base pay may vary and is dependent on factors such as performance, proficiency, and competencies required for the role. • The posted salary range reflects the ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
