Job Title: Staff Attorney, Utqiagvik Organization: **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** (ALSC) Location: Utqiagvik, Alaska Salary: $97,177-$145,765 DOE Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours per week)
ALSC is currently seeking a Staff Attorney for our Utqiagvik office to provide civil legal assistance to real property owners, with a focus on probate assistance, estate planning, and other Native law issues. The role also involves working with community groups, planning and conducting legal education sessions, and traveling to small communities and rural villages in the North Slope Borough as needed.
Required Qualifications: - Admitted to practice law in Alaska or eligible for an Alaska Bar Rule 43 waiver - Computer proficiency (Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Internet, e-mail, and data entry)
Highly Desired Qualifications: - Three to five years of legal experience - A demonstrated commitment to serving low-income individuals - Background working in cross-cultural situations
Salary and Benefits: - Salary range of $97,177-$145,765 DOE - Generous benefits and leave package, including partial reimbursement of relocation expenses - Personal leave begins at six weeks per year for full-time employees - 15 paid holidays observed by ALSC
