Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Senior Specialist, Field Communications is responsible for creating targeted communication to all levels of the field organization that support DSWs mission and strategies. They will manage and execute all day-to-day communication through established communications cadences and channels, as well as collaborate within store operations and cross-functionally to appropriately identify messages and timing. This individual will also develop and execute associate engagement initiatives (e.g. incentives, appreciation and recognition) and support meetings and events.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on communications professional with experience developing detailed communication, as well as customer centric with a passion for internal associate engagement
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Manage DSW Field Communications email inbox for issue resolution *Adapt to the pace of the business and quickly craft relevant, impactful messaging to address business needs through multiple communication channels as needed *Manage and coordinate all field-level communication *Write and edit with clarity of purpose, intent, and perspective for a variety of audiences *Draft written directives and collaborate with the operations team to support clear operational direction *Work with cross-functional subject matter experts on the creation of audience-specific communication to support company initiatives *Ensure consistency of the brand throughout all communications *Offer fresh and innovative ideas to reward, recognize, and incent internal associates *Lead ownership of associate engagement activities that contribute to an inspirational in-store environment *Partner with leadership to deliver engaging field leadership meetings that support DSW's mission and meeting objectives, through ownership of logistics
REQUIRED SKILLS:
*Excellent written communication skills with a passion for effective communication utilizing multiple channels to deliver messaging *Plans and organizes work efficiently with DSW's mission as a compass. Generates new ideas, supports change. Continuously seeks new knowledge and uses new information effectively *Ability to communicate to all levels of leadership in a professional manner *Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple activities simultaneously *Flexibility to change course based on evolving business needs *Demonstrated ability to take initiative and show ownership of projects and processes from start to finish *Ability to manage project and vendors within a budget *Takes accountability for decisions and actions *Strong understanding of Microsoft applications; including Teams
EXPERIENCE
*5-8 years of experience in a retail management role or working in an internal communications role
EDUCATION
*Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations or equivalent
