Research & Development involves all bench and clinical research and the associated groups that support those endeavors. The Neuroscience Therapeutic Area within Research is seeking a motivated and organized Sr. Research Associate to join a highly productive in vivo team. The successful candidate will have experience with animal handling, very good surgical hands, impressive injection skills, abide by welfare regulations, prize accuracy, and must be prepared to contribute individually as well as provide support for other members of the team. The goal is to drive the advancement of the early-stage pipeline with quality data.Responsibilities include: Assist with scheduling and the coordination of in vivo studies across neuroscience portfolio Assist with the design and execution of in vivo model systems and proof of concept studies to understand mechanisms Perform in vivo lab experiments including but not limited to dosing (IV, ICV, IP, Nasal delivery, ICM, etc.), PK/PD studies. Organize and maintain mouse colonies, genotyping, breeding, and standard husbandry Must recognize and adhere to IACUC standards of in vivo research, assist with bookkeeping of protocols, animal usage, document all experiments in electronic notebook, and track registries \u2013 Someone tech savvy that can streamline software communication across functional areas and program workable templates would be desired Engage with project teams, senior members, and cross functional players in a collaborative manner. Learn from and assist in setup and completion of experiments Manage and coordinate pre and post-in vivo study activities including drug receipt and drug storage to tissue sample processing and distribution. Other duties as assignedRequirements: In vivo surgical and injection experience in rodentsBasic understanding of neuroscience and drug applications to neurological and developmental disorders, particularly genetic disorders Basic knowledge of and hands-on experience with rodent in vivo and ex vivo models of developmental biology and neuroscience is highly preferred In vivo, in-life, surgical experience Must work collaboratively and be agile in a dynamic and ever-changing environmentStrong organizational and time-management skills Computer savvy and ability to manage electronic registriesExcellent oral and written English communication skillsAbility to be agile in a fast paced environmentEducation/ExperienceBachelor\u2019s degree and at least 6 years of experience; Master\u2019s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience Persons without in vivo experience need not apply.
