GENERAL SUMMARY The Senior Merchandise Planner is a leader within the planning organization and accountable for business performance and recommending financial strategies to ensure total ecommerce financial parameters are achieved.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Merchandise Planning
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Sets pre-season financial strategies and builds assortment architecture plans that support the merchant vision and ensure delivery of financial goals. Translates hindsight and in-season performance into future architecture. Collaborates with cross-functional partners to strengthen these strategies. • Develops and manages sales, markdown, and receipt plans through OTB at the category, class and subclass levels based on trends, assortment strategies and historical performance. • Develops/plans ecommerce traffic KPIs at a weekly/monthly level by channel. Presents plans and gains alignment from planning, merchant & marketing leads. • Maximizes brand inventory productivity through continual review and transfer of ATS units to support best sellers. Cultivate and maintain relationships with wholesale & drop-ship partners to facilitate this process. • Creates daily & weekly sales/demand plans based on history, trend and promotional cadence. Presents plans and gains alignment from planning & merchant leads. • Effectively advocates for the ecommerce business within the larger organization. Articulating needs, early selling patterns and key data points to drive overall company performance. • Communicates effectively to a wide variety of audiences to drive results. • Embraces a start-up mindset required for a high-growth business, occasionally lending support to others outside primary planning function. • Influences product lifecycle. • Displays leadership through facilitating effective meetings, presenting to all levels of the business, and supporting cross-functional teams across the business in driving company strategies. • Exemplifies leadership, anticipates and drives a growth mindset. • Drives process enhancements with IT and Reporting/Analysis partners. • Project Manager for ad-hoc projects or long-term initiatives. • Builds relationships with cross-functional teams in merchandising, marketing, finance, web ops, sourcing and DC ops to drive overall business strategy and uphold the DBI/Camuto Group mission.
REQUIRED SKILLS: • Strong financial acumen and statistical/analytical skills including data retrieval, organization, presentation, and summary skills. • Prioritizes effectively and adjusts easily to changing demands; demonstrates strong time management skills. • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal with emphasis on delivery of financial concepts. • Leads best practices/efficiencies/automations and communicates them to benefit the entire planning group. • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and MicroStrategy. Working-knowledge of ABS is a plus. • Provides point of view, influences others through detailed analysis, factual data, and makes strategic recommendations on actions to take.
EXPERIENCE: • Minimum of 5 years' experience in merchandise planning, allocation, financial analysis, buying or a combination of these areas.
EDUCATION: • B.S. degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
