Position Description:
SAIC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in DSP, FPGA, and VHDL design to join our team in Crane, IN. In this role, you will utilize your diverse background in power systems, digital circuits, and FPGAs to support and maintain DoD systems. Your responsibilities will include reverse engineering, design improvements, and overseeing the development of new systems by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). You will also have the opportunity to review VHDL code and implement new code for existing designs, as well as participate in multi-disciplinary teams to review architectures and requirements.
Job Duties:
- Reverse engineer designs with little or no documentation - Isolate faults to root cause - Develop new designs and fabricate prototypes - Evaluate bugs and feature enhancements as part of the Change Control Board (CCB) - Review VHDL code and design new algorithms - Analyze and derive hardware requirements from system requirements - Participate in peer reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Production Readiness Review (PRR)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM major and 9 years of experience, or Master's degree and 7 years of experience, or PhD/JD and 4 years of experience - Interim Secret clearance required to start with ability to obtain a Secret clearance; SAIC will sponsor the clearance process - US Citizenship - Experience with gated process development - Proficiency in VHDL code development, simulation, and verification - Expertise in laboratory debug techniques - Fundamental understanding of chassis power designs - Fundamental understanding of digital board level electrical interfaces, including ADCs, DACs, DSPs, High Speed SERDES, Flash and SDRAM - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook
Desired Skills:
- Experience with DoD Radio Frequency (RF) systems - Experience with OpenVPX - Experience with Scopes, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, ModelSim, MATLAB, CAD
Education and Experience Requirements:
